My Weekly Friday Message 3/22/19

Dear Stellar Families,

Happy Spring!!  Blossoms and greenery abound. Poetry is in the air. Welcome Spring. And even welcome the rain.

The therapy dogs came by again Thursday. They are quite the favorite event for our future leaders. This time there were 6 dogs - a record attendance for dogs.

We have added a new field trip to our year. The students will be visiting the Hayward Shelter on April 4. This shelter is the recipient of our service project and fundraising. Speaking of the fundraising, our bake sale last night raised $150.00!!! Nice work team Bella, Madison and Kylie!!! And thanks to all of the families that baked and shopped and provided us with the sweet treats to sell. It was a significant success.

Speaking of last night.. WOW!! How great and how much fun was that!?!?!?!? ALL the food was delicious - so many of you went over and above the call of duty to provide love and care to all of us through your food contributions. I really want to give special thanks to Brenda and Walter Huckaby. They set everything up beforehand and stayed afterwards to finish off the final bits of cleaning up. Melinda Mawson was in the kitchen before, during and after providing 2 amazing desserts, 2 savories for the food line AND she did the dishes!!! Go Team Stellar!

I especially want to commend my "B" gals - Becca, Bella and Brooke (who are really my A+ gals) for their performance of "Dreams of Harmony" last night. It took many layers of courage to sing in front of all of you. They did an amazing job and I couldn't be prouder of them.

Please send along your favorite pics from last night. They *may* be selected to be memorialized in our yearbook. I've attached mine to this email.  And, if you have the video of us singing, it has been suggested that that video would be a great addition to our end of the year montage presentation during closing ceremonies on Friday June 7....

Broken record reminders

Summer camp registration Encourage your neighbors to explore our summer camp. It's going to be fun AND educational because we can do it all.

Experiencing Dyslexia Simulation The flyer is attached to this email as well. Print it out and hand it out to your friends. Invite them to be part of our very welcoming community. If you are a current Stellar family, you are invited to attend the simulation  for free. Please register with Mrs. Huckaby in our office. We're providing lunch... pull a Nike and just do it!!

Warmest regards,
