(TGIF) Tinting Grass Implodes Flora
My Weekly Friday Message 9/27/2019
Dear Stellar Families,
Autumn has officially arrived, despite the heat we experienced at the beginning of the week...We had quite the week with the Wildcats visit on Tuesday (pictures below), Wednesday's Spirit Day (Congratulations to Mrs. Romo's class with 89% 8 out of 9 points possible!) (Mrs. Roberts' 16/23 = 70%; Ms. Mawon's 12/23 = 52%), Thursday's School Picture Day and today's field trip to Levi Stadium. All of these were out of the box learning opportunities for out students and all of our students were magnificent.
As I type this, the school is eerily quiet. The students and the most of the staff are on the Levi Stadium field trip. I don't like the quiet. I like a school to sound like a school with hallway chatter among friends and colleagues, teachers reminding students to walk in the hallway, laughter and opinions about the lesson that they just left and the sound of lesson being taught and learned in the classrooms. I like the sound of a school. I love being the fly on the wall for all of that. But enough about that.
Calendar reminders for October:
Therapy dogs first visit (!!!) - TH 10/10 (the kids read to the ever patient and always interested dogs.)
Field Trip - SF MOMA TH 10/17
Private Schools Fair - TH Oct. 24 11:30 - 1:30 at Athena Academy in Palo Alto (flyer attached below)
Wax Museum 10/31
October is International Dyslexia Awareness month. I am including the link to the Northerc CA IDA page for your information. IDA is a very informative organization that is: regional, national and international. https://norcal.dyslexiaida.org/
I'm going to hit send now because I hear the sound of young people returning from a field trip!
Have an amazing weekend and I look forward to seeing all of you on Monday!
